For GIKS, we took full responsibility for the entire design process, from concept development to material selection and custom-made furniture. The project is based on the renewal of the existing retail experience, using the brand’s existing DNA as a foundation to modernise and refine the concept without losing recognisability. The result is a layered shopping experience with clearly defined zones for men, women, and children, each with its own atmosphere within one coherent whole.

Concept & total design
The new concept builds on the existing GIKS identity but translates it into a contemporary retail experience. By critically re-evaluating the existing store layout, a more modern, calm, and readable environment was created, where experience and functionality reinforce each other. A key design element in this process was the use of rounded shapes, consistently integrated throughout the interior. This soft geometry brings balance to the space and creates a modern, accessible feel without losing strength or character.
Materiality & atmosphere development
A major part of the project involved an in-depth search for the right material combinations. Colours, textures, and finishes were carefully tested and compared until the right balance was achieved. Small nuances proved decisive for the final experience within each zone. The result is a layered material palette that creates calm, while still giving each department its own distinct character.

Zoning
Each target group was given its own carefully developed atmosphere within the overall concept:
• The men’s zone is more structured and uses darker tones
• The women’s zone is softer and more refined
• The children’s zone is more playful and accessible
Yet all zones remain clearly part of one recognisable retail environment.
The GIKS orange as a visual thread
A key element in the concept is the signature GIKS orange, which runs as a consistent thread throughout the interior. This accent is strategically applied at key touchpoints such as checkout areas and fitting rooms, where it ensures immediate brand recognition and visual anchoring. The orange thus acts not as a decorative feature, but as a structuring and guiding element within the store experience.
Furniture design
In addition to the overall concept, all furniture was designed by us. This allowed us to not only furnish the space but also actively structure it. Furniture was used as a carrier of both functionality and experience, and plays an essential role in the customer flow throughout the store.

Project supervision
During the development and realisation phases, we closely monitored the consistency between design and execution. We followed the project carefully at every stage and coordinated closely with all involved parties. This ensured that on-site decisions always remained aligned with the original design intent and intended experience. Through short communication lines and active follow-up, the project remained coherent throughout execution, with attention to detail, timing, and the integrity of the overall concept.
Result
The result is a renewed retail experience that respects the existing GIKS DNA while clearly evolving into a contemporary retail environment. A coherent whole in which zoning, materials, rounded forms, and recognisability come together in one clear brand experience.
