For Pret A Manger at Antwerp Central Station, we were responsible for the further development and execution of the project, starting from an already completed tender dossier. The strength of this project did not lie in redesigning the concept, but in its careful and consistent translation into reality within an exceptional and historically significant location.
Working within a unique heritage context
The location was a key starting point for the project. Antwerp Central Station is an iconic railway building where the existing architecture and authentic elements play a defining role. During execution, the focus was on respecting this context and carefully integrating the Pret A Manger concept within the existing whole.
Tendering & preparation
We took over the project from a fully developed tender dossier and were responsible for the further follow-up of the tender process. By thoroughly analysing the dossier and aligning with the executing parties, we were able to establish a clear and workable foundation for the start of the works.
Execution & site supervision
During the execution phase, the focus was on a smooth and controlled delivery. The site progressed remarkably efficiently, without delays, thanks to thorough preparation and clear coordination between all involved parties. Follow-up was carried out meticulously, with short communication lines and a strong on-site presence. The role of project supervision was crucial here: through continuous alignment and the ability to react quickly when needed, the project remained on track at all times.
Handover & Aftercare
Our involvement did not end with the handover. We prepared a comprehensive as-built dossier and ensured the necessary long-term follow-up. A project does not end when it opens; it must continue to perform effectively in practice, day after day.
